Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a multidisciplinary critical care unit in Washington, DC, requiring current DC RN license and 3 years of ICU experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a multidisciplinary Intensive Care Unit (ICU) caring for neurological, neurosurgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients
12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
Assignment duration is 13 weeks
Uses advanced medical technology such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, pulmonary artery catheters, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, IABP, ECMO/tandem heart, Impella, BIS monitors, CRRT, and intravenous infusion pumps
Experience with Cerner EMR required
Responsible for fulfilling critical care functions for a diverse and high‑acuity patient population
Must live more than 25 miles from the facility
Personal protective equipment and vaccinations may be required
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary ICU team
Holiday and weekend coverage may be required
Scrub colour or dress code details to be provided at assignment
References from two managers or supervisors preferred, with at least one from the most recent employer
Requirements
Active DC RN license required
Minimum of 3 years recent ICU experience
Graduate of an accredited or NLN‑approved RN programme
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required from AHA
Experience with Cerner EMR required
Two years of recent experience in a US hospital in an ICU setting required
BSN highly preferred
CPI certification required
Must provide US Social Security Number for consideration
No pending licences accepted
