Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a DC RN license and critical care skills.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
Cares for diverse patient populations, including trauma, critical care, psych, pediatric, and urgent care cases
Shift is 12 hours, with 3 shifts per week on nights or rotating am/pm schedule
Bedside trauma RN coverage required, including work in the trauma room
Patient ratios are 1:5
Use of Cerner EMR is required
Responsibilities include medication titration, arterial line management, mass blood transfusions, and chest tube care
Must coordinate and deliver care to patients with complex needs ensuring high safety and quality standards
Team-based, fast-paced Emergency Department environment
A minimum distance of 25 miles from the hospital is required for traveler eligibility
Holiday and weekend coverage may be required
Requirements
Active DC RN license required, with no pending status accepted
Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
BSN is highly desired
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC (AHA only)
CPI certification is mandated
Cerner EMR experience required
Must have two years of prior work experience in a US hospital ED
Candidates must provide a US Social Security Number for consideration
