Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position requiring MA licensure and strong acute care experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital float pool setting, covering up to 5 different Med/Surg and Telemetry units
Departments include ortho, urology, neurology, GYN, cardiology/telemetry, surgery, and cardio-thoracic
Unit bed counts: M7 (30), 6W (32), 7E (30), CMS6 (16)
Patient ratio is typically 1:5
12-hour day/night rotating shifts with 36 hours per week
Required to work every other weekend, may change to every third weekend
Every other holiday coverage required
No specific schedule requests accommodated
Must float and quickly adapt between multiple acute care units
Uses Meditech and EPIC EMRs, EPIC experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care across various adult Med/Surg and Tele units
Required to perform IV therapy and monitor telemetry independently
Must be able to work with a diverse patient population that may include ortho, neurology, surgery, and cardiac
Internal Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test must be completed; details provided during onboarding
Parking details and associated fees will be provided upon employment
No extended requests for time off are permitted; most Fridays may be scheduled
References must meet specific criteria and cannot be from other travelers
Requirements
Active MA RN license required at the time of consideration
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required\
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg or Telemetry required
Level 1 Trauma hospital experience required
Must be able to independently read telemetry strips and pass a dysrhythmia exam with at least 84%, two attempts allowed
Must pass an on-site telemetry test on Day 1
Strong adaptability to work in multiple units required
Preferred 3-5 years float pool experience
Two professional references required, one from a manager within the past 12 months
