Job Type: Full‑time
This position is based in Jackson Hole and is responsible for generating catering revenues through research, direct and telephone prospecting, personal sales calls, and trade show representation. The focus will be on social events, local businesses, offsite events, and wedding opportunities for Hotel Terra & Teton Mountain Lodge. The role includes receiving and processing all inquiries, contracts, paperwork, site inspections, out‑of‑town sales trips, and assisting with direct mailings, utilizing marketing tools to maximize food, beverage, rental and other revenue potential while building strong local and national catering relationships and delivering high‑quality customer service.
Responsibilities
Develop familiarity with the properties, including catering, meeting space, occupancy, program design, and all procedures and policies (Reservations, Front Office, Accounting, Housekeeping, guest safety, transportation, recreational activities, restaurants, shopping, and profit centers).
Negotiate and implement catering proposals (offsites, social events, local business, weddings), review all proposals and contracts with the Director of Sales for signature, and research catering histories prior to issuing contracts.
Fully service non‑elopement weddings.
Establish and achieve sales goals with the Director of Sales, market catering through direct sales, direct mailings and trade shows, and review itineraries, strategies and results regularly.
Ensure all operational considerations and expectations are handled before any booking arrives, develop spec sheets and hold appropriate meetings.
Assist other departments with catering needs and coordination when required.
Assist the marketing department with programs that promote catering sales.
Qualifications
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
College degree or high‑school diploma with related experience.
Excellent verbal communication and sales skills.
Ability to read, write and understand English.
Minimum 2–3 years of hotel/resort sales experience.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Windows, Delphi, other relevant programs).
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Team‑orientated and able to work as part of a team.
Telephone sales experience.
Strong desire to deliver high‑quality customer service.
Detail‑oriented, organized, and accurate.
Personnel management and organizational skills.
Hotel/resort group sales experience.
Flexible work schedule and willing to travel out of town 4–5 times per year.
Capable of handling pressure situations with ease.
Good associate relations skills.
