Safer NM is searching for a dynamic, visionary Chief Executive Officer to guide our long-standing nonprofit organization into its next era of impact. We’re looking for a leader who shares that commitment.
Additional Areas of Responsibility The CEO is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and strategic management of Safer NM. This role oversees program development, personnel management, fiscal oversight, and community engagement. Success in this position requires strong political acumen and the ability to collaborate with government entities, the legislature, and partners across tribal, local, state, and national levels.
Representing Safer NM in statewide and national initiatives focused on transportation safety
Other Information/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
Seven years leading a nonprofit or comparable organization
Five years of experience managing government contracts and grants at the state and federal level
Expertise in grant writing, fundraising, budgeting, and financial oversight
Experience building and maintaining relationships with law enforcement partners
Current or former NM residency preferred
Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background investigation
