About the Role The General Manager is a key member of the executive team and is responsible for leading all manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, and operational process functions across the company. This leader brings deep expertise in lean manufacturing, warehouse and distribution optimization, process automation, and global procurement. The GM will serve as the operational architect of the business— designing, modernizing, and scaling processes to reduce waste, optimize throughput, and ensure the company meets customer demand with precision and reliability. This role requires an experienced, hands‑on operational leader who can modernize workflows, improve systems utilization (Sage 300 ERP and Sage CRM), and build a high‑accountability culture focused on quality, speed, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

Lead all day‑to‑day operations of manufacturing, warehouse, fulfillment, distribution, and logistics functions.

Implement operational strategies aligned with corporate goals for quality, delivery, cost efficiency, and scalability.

Drive operational KPIs including on‑time delivery, throughput, inventory turns, cost reduction, and safety performance.

Ensure engineering, production, and customer service functions operate in tight coordination to support customer commitments.

Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

Deploy lean tools and methodologies such as 5S, value‑stream mapping, Kaizen, standard work, and visual management.

Build a culture focused on waste elimination, process simplification, and measurable performance improvements.

Develop and track continuous improvement projects across the plant and distribution center.

Global Procurement & Inventory Management

Lead localized global sourcing strategy and supplier management to ensure product availability, cost competitiveness, and reliability.

Oversee procurement forecasting, inventory planning, safety stock, and demand alignment with sales forecasts.

Maintain optimal inventory levels to support sales growth without excess working capital burden.

Drive supplier performance improvements, contract negotiations, and risk mitigation.

Process Automation & Digitization

Identify manual or inefficient workflows and implement automated solutions to reduce labor waste and improve process speed.

Lead the integration and optimization of ERP and CRM platforms—Sage 300 and Sage CRM— across purchasing, operations, manufacturing, and order fulfillment.

Champion the development of dashboards, reporting tools, and automated workflows to replace manual processes.

Distribution & Warehouse Optimization

Oversee all warehouse, receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping operations.

Implement distribution best practices to improve order accuracy, cycle time, and fulfillment efficiency.

Ensure the warehouse operates with high standards of organization, safety, and performance.

Manage and develop operations, warehouse, production, and global procurement teams.

Set performance expectations, coach team members, and establish accountability systems.

Recruit, train, and retain top‑tier operational talent in line with company's culture of excellence.

Cross‑Functional Leadership

Collaborate closely with Engineering, Sales, Finance, and Customer Service to ensure seamless workflow and accurate planning.

Serve as a key advisor to the CEO on operational strategy, capacity planning, and organizational change initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Technology, or related field.

Minimum 7+ years of progressive operations leadership in an industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or engineered products environment.

Expert‑level knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and demonstrated success implementing plant‑wide lean initiatives.

Strong experience with warehouse, distribution, and logistics optimization.

Proven track record in global procurement, supplier management, and inventory planning.

Demonstrated success in process automation, digital workflow design, and driving out manual inefficiencies.

Hands‑on experience with Sage 300 ERP and Sage CRM strongly preferred.Strong financial acumen, including cost control, margin improvement, and operational KPI reporting.

Excellent leadership, coaching, team‑building, and communication skills.

Preferred

Experience in engineered‑to‑order or industrial products manufacturing.

Background in machine foundation engineering, vibration control, or mechanical systems (helpful but not required).

Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).

Success will be measured by:

Reduction in manual processes and automated workflow adoption.

Increased throughput and production efficiency through warehouse organization.

Reduction in operational costs through process and systemic efficiencies.

On‑time delivery (OTD) improvements / Reduction of past‑due orders.

Inventory accuracy and turns.

Supplier performance improvements, including productivity and payment terms negotiations.

Team development and retention.Operational readiness to support revenue growth targets.
