Phaxis Education is seeking an engaging and student-centered
Middle School English Language Arts Teacher
to support learners in grades 6–8 for the upcoming school year. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about literacy development, adolescent learning, and creating a positive, structured, and inspiring classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality, standards-aligned ELA instruction for middle school students (grades 6–8).
Teach reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and speaking/listening skills.
Use age-appropriate novels, informational texts, and writing units to build strong literacy foundations.
Implement engaging instructional strategies that support early adolescent developmental needs.
Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments; adjust instruction accordingly.
Maintain a classroom environment that is structured, inclusive, and supportive.
Collaborate regularly with grade-level teams and ELA department staff.
Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff to support academic and behavioral success.
Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Education, English, Literacy, or related field preferred.
Valid teaching certification in Middle School ELA/English (or eligibility).
Understanding of adolescent development and middle school literacy needs.
Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with reading/writing workshop models.
Familiarity with state ELA standards and curriculum frameworks.
Ability to integrate project-based learning or hands-on writing activities.
Collaborative, team-oriented approach to planning and instruction.
