Recovery Program Coordinator (55127) – Phoenix House
Base pay range $56,000.00/yr – $67,101.00/yr
Summary The Recovery Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Recovery Services. They lead the planning and delivery of our physical, mental, emotional, and character development and support programming at the Brooklyn Community Recovery Center. These programs are designed to engage a broad and diverse cross section of the recovery community, enhance well‑being, and promote recovery‑oriented living. The Program Coordinator liaises with established vendors who facilitate these services, and seeks out and onboard new vendors to meet evolving needs. Programs include, but are not limited to, yoga, fitness, music, art, self‑help, and mutual aid. In collaboration with the leadership team, s/he is responsible for the on‑site management of the Brooklyn Community Recovery Center programming and its staff, and for establishing and maintaining community relationships in furtherance of a community recovery vision and the mission of the Recovery Community Outreach Center and Phoenix House. This is a grant‑funded position and renews September 29, 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for both administrative and peer professional staff; supervises hiring, informs/conducts performance evaluations, assigns training activities, recommends promotions, evaluates discipline and terminations.
Plans, directs, and coordinates all training, professional development, and vocational/educational services for patients under the guidance of the Director of Recovery Services.
Evaluates program effectiveness and makes revisions to program design and/or policies and procedures, as needed.
Provides guidance and support to the Recovery Care Manager to ensure an adequate recovery care environment.
Facilitates staff meetings, with or without other leadership, to coordinate activities in accordance with the Center’s goals.
Evaluates and monitors program activities (e.g., counseling, peer encounter groups, seminars and workshops, work assignments).
Liaises with senior administrative staff and other region staff.
Ensures all personnel policies, procedures and clinical regulatory requirements are adhered to by staff.
Coordinates administrative functions and reporting, including preparing annual budgets, controlling monthly expenses, scheduling staff, and issuing required monthly reports.
Develops relationships with appropriate community agencies, coalitions, partnerships, and service providers.
Collaborates with the Director of Recovery Services to develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, including representing the agency at meetings.
Engages with program participants to provide recovery coaching services and advocate for their needs and the recovery community.

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Art, Music, Movement or related field
Preferred Education

2 years of experience providing or coordinating service delivery, mentoring/coaching/leading staff and/or volunteers
Familiarity with regulations governing substance use disorder recovery support services
Work Environment
This job operates in both an indoor office and community‑based environment, and outdoors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.
