This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program (FBM), a 63‑year‑old program with a long history of mission success and a strong partnership with our Navy customer. Location This position does not support teleworking and will be located at the Lockheed Martin Space facility in Cape Canaveral, FL. You will be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full‑time. Please note that we will not provide relocation services for this position.
Role Summary The new Software Engineer will support the LE2 Program for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). Use your strong software engineering skills to work with all project partners and define the future of FBM.
Key Responsibilities
Support the EGSE Organization as a software engineer.
Contribute to modernization efforts aimed at achieving greater efficiency, security, automation, and scalability.
Collaborate with an enthusiastic team of software, systems, electrical, and test engineers using Agile development methodology.
Coordinate with product line managers and directorates to support needs.
Required Qualifications
Programming experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, LabView, Python, Java, TestStand.
+5 years of professional software engineering experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, an accredited college, or related discipline (or equivalent experience/combined education).
Experience working on project teams and development efforts.
Experience with developing software requirements, CONOPs, and software design.
Knowledge of product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement).
Issue tracking and troubleshooting experience.
DoD Top Secret clearance required (interim Secret clearance required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret).
Desired Skills
Experience in simulation software development, software testing and validation, and software configuration management.
Experience with telemetry data processing (TDP).
Experience working with RF.
Experience with multiple OS platforms such as Linux and Windows.
Systems thinking mindset.
Experience with Agile and DevOps processes and culture.
Experience with Jira or other Atlassian tool sets.
Ability to work autonomously and drive items to closure.
Strong communication, social, and problem‑resolution skills.

Salary and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $113,900 - $200,905. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Salary information is a general guideline only; factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and market considerations may influence the final offer.
