Assistant Controller - (Fast track to Controller - White Plains, NY)
We are a rapidly growing beverage distributor located in White Plains, NY seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team. The assistant controller reports to the VP of Finance & Accounting and will be responsible for month‑end close, financial reporting, AP/AR, payroll and inventory accounting.
This opportunity is onsite 5 days/week and will offer up to $150,000 on a base plus bonus!
Responsibilities
Oversee general ledger and manage month‑end/year‑end close process
Prepare financial statements, consolidations, and internal reports
Manage day‑to‑day AR/AP, payroll, and inventory accounting
Assist with the development and implementation of internal controls
Ensure compliance with tax filings, audits, and relevant financial regulations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a leadership role
Industry experience in wholesale, food & beverage, or distribution preferred
Strong foundation in inventory accounting
Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and advanced in Excel
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross‑functionally
