Job Description American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a PCU/Oncology float pool position requiring a CA RN license and current chemo (ONS) certification.
Responsibilities
Hospital float pool position covering PCU/Oncology units at multiple locations
Patient population includes medical, surgical, neuro, oncology, cardiac, and orthopedic cases
Care provided in PCU, IMU, telemetry, and med/surg units with varying patient ratios (IMU 1:3, Tele 1:4, MS 1:5)
May float to emergency department inpatient overflow if needed
Night shifts (3x12 hours), 19:00–07:00
Work location for each shift provided by phone call two hours before shift start
Uses Epic and Pyxis for documentation; Cerner experience required
No blocked or self-scheduling
Position accepts first-time travelers
Must be comfortable floating among four different hospital locations
May be required to float down to med/surg units as needed
No RTO (requested time off) allowed in the first two weeks of assignment
Local candidates accepted at same rate
Candidates returning as travelers must have been gone for at least one year
A 4-week schedule will be provided two weeks in advance
Previous UCSD employees require approval prior to assignment
Requirements
Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
ONS chemotherapy certification required
Current ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience required
Experience with IV starts, telemetry, phlebotomy, and A-lines required
Cerner EMR experience required
Must pass EKG exam (up to 3 attempts allowed)
At least one supervisory reference from the last year in the specialty area required
