About the Role Our Field Service / Operations team is seeking a skilled and safety-focused

Battery Installation Technician

to join our growing crew. In this hands‑on role, you’ll be responsible for installing, removing, and maintaining industrial battery systems—including lead‑acid, lithium‑ion, and other energy storage technologies—at customer sites nationwide. Your work will directly support the reliable operation of critical power systems in industries where uptime is everything.

Responsibilities

Safely install, remove, and replace industrial battery systems, cabinets, and related equipment, following manufacturer specs and company procedures.

Assemble battery strings, route cabling, and torque connections to exact standards using proper tools and PPE.

Perform battery testing—capacity tests, voltage readings, and thermal checks—to ensure systems meet performance standards.

Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety protocols while working around high‑voltage DC systems.

Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and customers to complete installations on time and to the highest quality.

Maintain accurate installation records, including serial numbers, torque logs, and test data.

Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling tools to move heavy battery systems.

Perform site cleanup and ensure proper disposal or recycling of removed batteries.

Assist in diagnosing and resolving basic electrical or battery‑related issues during installation.

Participate in ongoing training to keep up with evolving battery technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in UPS battery installation, telecom battery systems, or industrial electrical work preferred.

Basic understanding of DC power systems and electrical safety.

OSHA 10/30 or NFPA 70E training preferred.

Forklift certification a plus.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays.

Work Environment

Frequent travel to customer sites across various industries.

Work in data centers, industrial facilities, and mechanical/electrical rooms.

Exposure to high‑voltage equipment and heavy materials.
