Job Title: Medical Technologist Location: Barnabas Health Corp Department: Lab RWJNB Req#: 0000159735 Status: Full-Time Shift: Evening Pay Range: $36.35 - $48.29 per hour

Job Overview Tech will be responsive to process samples, set up and report results from different platforms, and perform a wide range of virological, bacteriological, and parasitological tests to detect and diagnose disease and infection.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Biology
Board Certified
ASCP or equivalent

Essential Functions
Performs all testing as per standard operating procedures, bench work in all trained areas, maintain desired turn‑around times, serve as resource for technical questions, troubleshoot specimens, interact with staff as necessary.
Assists in training and orienting new lab, hospital employees, and students.
Performs and documents quality control and proficiency testing with corrective action and documentation.
Ensures integrity and proper use of IT systems, entering results, QC, and monitoring turn‑around times.
Ensures instruments are calibrated, maintenance performed, quality control completed prior to analysis; institutes corrective action; communicates problems to supervisor or designee.
Provides oversight of technical operations in absence of supervisor.
Demonstrates leadership skills evidenced by coworkers and exit interviews.
Solves problems under stress; supportive of others.
Accepts constructive feedback and criticism appropriately.
Promotes excellence and develops staff.
