District Overview Mapleton delivers PK-12 education through small schools in unincorporated Adams County, Thornton, and north Denver. The district serves more than 7,000 students and is committed to academic success and personal growth.
Organization and Fund The Mapleton Education Foundation supplements district resources with scholarships, grants, events, and community aid. The foundation’s board of volunteers and staff collaborate to provide over $200,000 annually in assistance to the district.
Summary The Director partners with the Foundation’s Board, the Superintendent, and district administration to provide leadership, vision, and operational coordination, managing policies, programs, and revenue goals. The Director fosters relationships with community leaders and maintains organized management structures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of public‑sector administration experience, or 7 years of related professional experience.
Diverse and successful fundraising experience, including grant writing and annual fund management.
Experience in project management, budgeting, strategic planning, marketing, and event planning.
Prior experience working with boards, volunteers, or external partners is highly desirable.

Performance Responsibilities
Act as spokesperson and representative of the Foundation.
Build internal support among staff and parents.
Maintain current knowledge of fundraising, philanthropy, and tax compliance.
Collaborate with the Board and district to set and achieve strategic goals.
Support board, committee, and volunteer recruitment, training, and development.
Coordinate agenda, attend board and committee meetings.
Develop, implement, and evaluate programs to meet strategic objectives.
Oversee financial management, including annual budgeting.
Ensure operational adherence to bylaws and recommend policies to the Board.
Provide timely Board reports on finances and progress.
Prepare funding requests, proposals, and related correspondence.
Support administration of scholarships, grants, events, and community aid.
Plan and execute marketing and communications strategies.
Maintain official records, file required corporate reports, and manage tax documents.
Manage constituent database and acknowledgment system.
Assist in event coordination and project evaluation.
Perform clerical duties as needed.
Judgment and Decision Making Independent, self‑motivated, and able to prioritize a diverse workload. Ethical decision making, time management, and problem‑solving are essential.
Physical Demands Routine use of hands, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds (occasionally 100 pounds). Visual and auditory demands include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Mental Functions Regular comparison, analysis, communication, coordination, synthesis, evaluation, and interpersonal skills. Frequently involves copying, instructing, computing, compiling, and negotiating.
