Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Human Resources, or related field required. Criminal background check required for hire. Valid Principal license required or Administrators License preferred. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Society of Human Resources Manager (SHRM) preferred. 5-7 years of successful school leadership required. Administrative experience at school level preferred. Valid US driver’s license. Competencies
Deep knowledge of Mapleton’s past and current improvement initiatives preferred. Executive Education through the University of Virginia’s Partnership for Leaders in Education preferred. Demonstrated success leading initiatives with a system-level impact preferred. Knowledge of employment laws and general Human Resources practices Deep knowledge of research based instructional practices. Experience with leadership and thinking models used to promote the growth of system leaders. Demonstrated experience serving as both a member and a leader of high functioning collaborative teams. Performance Responsibilities
Serve as a resource to principals, hiring managers and department directors on employment law, performance issues, and employee relations. Implement school district, state, and federal statutes, policies, and regulations related to Human Resources. Lead the implementation of Educator Effectiveness. Serve as a liaison Between the departments of Talent Management and Teaching and Learning. Coach and evaluate school principals and other staff to maximize outcomes for students and organizational effectiveness, in support of Mapleton’s mission. Facilitate individual, small group and large group training for school principals and other staff. Lead efforts to recruit, develop and Retain staff members in all employee groups. Lead the implementation of educator effectiveness, including Employee evaluation processes. Lead teacher growth initiatives, including the Educator Assistance (EA) and Intensive Assistance (IA) processes. Develop a workforce pipeline To provide Mapleton with quality employees. Serve as the district contact for various institutions, including universities and other career training programs. Serve as a Title IX Coordinator to support District compliance. Review and process Portability Requests for teacher non-probationary status. Conduct employee investigations, provide reports, and make recommendations for appropriate disciplinary action of employees. Analyze trends and recommend proactive measures to address problems. Resolve Incident Reports through the District Safe-to-Tell reporting system as necessary. Provide guidance and support to Talent Management team for escalated employee relations matters. Act as a mediator for addressing and resolving employee-related disputes. Facilitate communication and guide parties towards reaching a mutually acceptable agreement. Serve as a resource on employment law and HR-related industry changes and remain current on existing employment law changes that may impact the work of the HR department. Modify processes to comply with changes in state and federal laws. Educate HR staff and supervisors on the changes and the effect on current processes and procedures. Plan and facilitate ongoing training of district and HR staff on HR-related applications and accepted HR policies, practices, and procedures related to employee relations. Develop and distribute employee relations training resources to people managers, which includes FRISK (Facts, Rule, Impact, Suggestions/Directions, Knowledge) model training. Oversee special projects, as assigned. Use sound judgement, set timelines, build project management tools, and present updates to throughout projects. Track deliverables and work with various departments necessary to bring projects to completion. Build support for project goals by educating or training supervisor/employee groups. District Pre-service coordinator and representative with university partnerships. Coordinate orientations for university interns. Perform other duties as assigned. Evaluation
