General Manager (GM)
to oversee all operations of our well‑maintained property. The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on leader who drives exceptional guest satisfaction, maximizes financial performance, and fosters a positive, efficient work environment.
Role Description
Operational Excellence & Guest Experience:
Overseeing all departments: Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Breakfast Service.
Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and property condition.
Leading by example to ensure superior guest satisfaction and resolving all guest issues promptly and effectively.
Managing property maintenance and capital improvement projects as needed.
Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training hotel staff.
Conducting performance reviews and providing coaching and development to departmental managers and team members.
Fostering a positive, engaged, and professional work culture.
Ensuring compliance with all labor laws and company policies.
Sales & Local Market Penetration:
Actively implementing local sales efforts, including conducting property tours, inside and outside sales calls to drive corporate, group, and transient business.
Developing and managing relationships with key local companies, meeting planners, and travel agencies to secure repeat and long‑term contracts.
Building and maintaining strong relationships within the local community.
Executing brand standards and participating in owner/management meetings.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in hotel management, with at least 1‑2 years specifically as a GM or AGM in a limited‑service hotel.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (relevant experience may substitute for a degree).
Skills
Proven track record in both operations management and proactive sales/business development.
Strong knowledge of PMS (Property Management Systems) and Revenue Management software.
Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
A proactive,
hands‑on
management style—must be comfortable stepping in to assist in any department (Front Desk, Housekeeping, etc.) during busy times or staff shortages.
