Operations Manager, Airport Parking

Metropolis Technologies is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee airport parking facilities. The role demands strong leadership, budget oversight, and excellent customer service skills.

Overview SP+, a Metropolis company, uses computer vision to deliver checkout‑free parking experiences. Our network spans over 23,000 employees and 4,000 locations across North America and Europe. We are reinventing parking to provide frictionless, time‑saving services wherever people go.

Responsibilities

Direct, manage, and coordinate the activities of staff and contract personnel.

Prepare the annual operating budget and ensure the facility operates within budgetary limits.

Review and approve bi‑monthly expense reimbursement reports.

Ensure parking, security, cash control, and customer service procedures are followed.

Evaluate staff performance, issue disciplinary notices, and handle first‑step grievances.

Act as primary contact between the union(s) representing employees.

Inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment for safety and maintenance needs.

Serve as liaison between airport and on‑site management and corporate offices in Chicago and Nashville.

Lead weekly client calls/meetings reporting on finances, operations, and ongoing projects.

Coordinate routine and special maintenance projects related to facility improvements.

Supervise subcontractors to ensure contract compliance.

Coordinate facility openings/closings and determine staffing requirements.

Interact with customers to answer questions, investigate complaints, and resolve problems.

Monitor cashier reports for accurate sales totals and identify potential theft or inefficiencies.

Review damage claims, assign responsibility, and recommend safety improvements.

Qualifications Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.

Work Experience:

Minimum two years management experience, preferably at a large dynamic parking installation. Previous airport, customer service, and union experience highly recommended.

Computer Skills:

Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Equipment Used:

Personal computers, monitoring cameras, telephones, two‑way radios, printers, copiers, automobile, golf cart.

License Requirement:

Valid state‑issued driver's license with current address and acceptable driving record.

Other Requirements:

Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport‑issued (FBI clearance) badge.

Key Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact constructively with employees, management, clients, and vendors. Ability to evaluate situations, set priorities, and respond to issues timely. Requires strong attention to detail and fast‑paced multitasking.

Physical Demands Regular travel (up to 50%) between airports to respond to employee, equipment, and customer issues. Majority of tasks performed in an office setting. May involve bending, stretching, lifting up to 10–25 pounds, and working outdoors in varied weather. Noise and fumes from traffic may be present.
