Role The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Senior Applied AI Architect partners with customers to design and build advanced cloud architectures and solutions. As a trusted customer advocate, you help organizations understand best practices around cloud‑based solutions and provide guidance on building, migrating, and scaling generative AI & ML workloads.

Use ML and Generative AI tools such as Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q and other technologies to design, evangelize, and implement state‑of‑the‑art solutions. Travel is mostly regional, expected 15‑20%.

Key Job Responsibilities

Ensure success in designing, building, and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.

Interact with customers directly to understand business problems and aid them in implementation of their AI/ML ecosystem.

Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and showcase possibilities.

Participate in deep architectural discussions and design exercises to create world‑class solutions on AWS, ensuring successful deployment.

Author and contribute to AWS customer‑facing publications such as whitepapers, workshops, demos, and proof‑of‑concepts.

Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.

Capture and share best‑practice knowledge within the AWS Architect community.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics.

3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.

7+ years of IT development or consulting in software or internet industries.

Hands‑on experience architecting and deploying full‑stack generative AI workloads to production systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience optimizing production generative AI or hybrid AI workloads for cost, latency, and resilience.

PhD in Computer Science with specialization in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Natural Language Processing — or a Master’s with strong AI/ML focus.

Knowledge of large‑scale automation and workflow management or equivalent.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. Base pay ranges from $138,200/year at the lowest market to $239,000/year at the highest.
