We are seeking a skilled PE in Electrical Engineering to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for a variety of construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, communication, security, and fire alarm systems.
Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems into the building design.
Conduct load calculations and energy efficiency assessments to optimize system performance and to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
Review and analyze project requirements, proposals, and technical reports.
Oversee installation and commissioning of electrical systems on-site, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
Stay current with industry trends, technology, and regulations to ensure innovative and sustainable design solutions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with electrical emphasis.
PE registration in South Dakota or the ability to obtain within 1 month of hire.
8+ years of experience in electrical design within the construction industry.
Proficiency with Autodesk Revit.
Experience with lighting software or SKM PowerTools.
Working knowledge of building, energy, electrical, and life safety codes.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and use time productively to maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals.
Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and values.
Ability to demand the highest standard of ethical conduct from self and others.
Ability to travel as needed for projects.
