Position Summary: Are you a passionate software engineer looking to make an impact in a dynamic and innovative environment? Join our Walmart/VIZIO team as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to drive the testing automation of cutting-edge embedded and TV systems. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders to automate testing for scalable, high-quality software solutions. What you’ll do
Team context: Our Software and Services team creates robust and scalable software solutions across multiple platforms that run on millions of televisions daily. We operate in a fast-paced environment focused on innovation and collaboration to achieve our goals. As an SDET, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and driving the company’s technological advancements. Design and develop automated test frameworks for embedded and TV systems that communicate with cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure. Design, develop, and deploy BDD tests across our middleware suite, and integrate those tests into our CI/CD pipelines. Implement structured logging, metrics, and traces to facilitate root-cause analysis across multiple software components. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or discipline. 2-3 years of hands-on testing experience for embedded systems with Python and C++ code. Deep testing automation knowledge for embedded systems. Knowledgeable in testing cloud computing applications. Knowledgeable in C++ development. Strong knowledge of design patterns, software architecture principles, and embedded systems. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with REST API, JSON, MQTT, MicroPython, unit test frameworks, and end-to-end test automation of embedded devices. Proven track record of shipping high-quality software on embedded platforms. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area. Knowledge of accessibility best practices and WCAG 2.2 AA standards; experience with inclusive digital experiences. Location
