Base Pay Range:

$90,000.00/yr – $180,000.00/yr

Position Summary:

Join Walmart as a Senior Software Engineer of Test Automation, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable software solutions that align with business objectives. This role involves analyzing requirements, creating detailed designs, and producing high‑quality test automation. Collaborating across teams, you will support continuous integration and delivery processes, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement automation to enhance efficiency. The position demands expertise in software architecture, coding standards, and testing methodologies to deliver reliable and innovative technology solutions that drive Walmart’s business forward.

Responsibilities

Design and develop automated test frameworks for embedded and TV systems that communicate with cloud‑based solutions using Microsoft Azure.

Design, develop, and deploy BDD tests across our middleware suite, and then integrate those tests into our CI/CD pipelines.

Implement structured logging, metrics, and traces to facilitate root cause analysis across multiple software components.

Create and execute test cases to validate functionality and identify defects.

Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or discipline.

2–3 years of hands‑on testing experience for embedded systems with Python and C++ code.

Deep testing automation knowledge for embedded systems.

Experience with test automation, manual testing, and defect management to ensure high‑quality deliverables.

Expertise in coding standards, secure coding practices, and use of development tools and platforms.

Preferred:

Experience with REST API, JSON, MQTT, MicroPython, unit test frameworks and end‑to‑end test automation of embedded devices, proven track record of shipping high‑quality software on embedded platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year’s experience in software engineering or related area.

Experience creating inclusive digital experiences, knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
