Consistent with corporate objectives, support the logistical needs of the organization by maintaining a transportation management system. Support North American manufacturing facilities when problems with shipments arise.

The Import/Export Bulk Load Planner will manage international trade logistics, ensuring goods cross borders smoothly by preparing customs documents, complying with global regulations (like HS codes), coordinating with freight forwarders, and calculating duties/taxes, requiring skills in business/supply chain, attention to detail, and strong communication to handle complex documentation and compliance for businesses.

Transportation System Maintenance

Maintain carrier data within transportation management system. This includes carrier information, rates, & awarded lanes for inbound, interplant, and customer freight.

Monitor carriers daily to ensure defined performance criteria is met.

Support the logistic and overall supply plan and recognize where changes in capacity requirements may impede carrier related service.

Utilize TMS, SAP, and other system-related tools to monitor freight cost, shipment capacities and service performance for assigned locations.

Enter, investigate & escalate carrier-related service exceptions and follow up with carriers when corrective actions are needed.

Collaborate with customer service to provide freight rates and shipment updates.

Stay up to date with national transportation guidelines and requirements.

Proactively address service failures and identify solutions.

Work with Accounts Payable/finance to process invoices.

Audit all freight invoices. Approve rate exceptions.

File cargo loss/damage claims when instances arise.

Limited on-call availability to address emergency shipments.

Ability to effectively manage conflict.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

Support other regional teams during times of vacations, illness, etc.

Special projects as assigned to continue the improvement of Supply chain.

Attend training session focused on skill development and process improvement of Logistics.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma

SAP experience required.

3 years of international import / export bulk transportation experience

Ability to work independently to meet established deadlines

Understands transportation rate structures and networks

Strong systems aptitude, with experience in ERP, Warehouse Management and/or Transportation Management systems, experience with SAP a plus

Strong analytical skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Good verbal and written communication skills

3 years of preparing customs documents, complying with global regulations (like HS codes), coordinating with freight forwarders, and calculating duties/taxes

Skills in business/supply chain, attention to detail, and strong communication to handle complex documentation and compliance for businesses

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business or other related discipline or equivalent experience
