What You’ll Get To Do Join the MFG Engineering team for Sentinel and contribute to engineering solutions for deploying a state‑of‑the‑art weapon system. You will leverage technical experience and understanding of production processes for PWB, CCAs, and LRUs to support and enhance manufacturing operations, advise teammates, and lead cross‑functional improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Provide advanced technological ideas and SME to resolve technical questions and ensure compliance with the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) Statement of Work (SOW).
Offer technical and administrative leadership to program Integrated Product Team (IPT) cohorts and suppliers.
Produce production documentation and data, build/buy decisions, assembly/install work instructions, and specialty tooling design for field installation.
Act as SME during field activities and serve as team liaison.
Additional Job Responsibilities Include
Represent the organization as a technical contact and facilitate inter‑team coordination.
Develop, study, and test production and deployment methods and equipment.
Collaborate with Design Engineering to ensure practical manufacturing solutions.
Resolve complex process issues and coordinate with integration teams.
Work with suppliers on manufacturing planning for MRAs.
Research commercial tools and equipment to support deployment activities.
Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
Improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency of existing processes.
Create detailed work and install instructions for assigned products/processes.
Educate and train operators on new and existing processes.
Maintain program project plans and schedules aligned with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
Provide on‑site engineering support during field installations.
Implement Lean practices for continuous improvement.

Job Qualifications Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer Bachelor’s degree in Science with 8 years of experience; or Master’s with 6 years; or PhD with 4 years. Four additional years may substitute for a degree.
Principal Manufacturing Engineer Bachelor’s degree in Science with 5 years of experience; or Master’s with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year. Four additional years may substitute for a degree.
Required for Both Levels
U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance; must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret and Special Access Program approvals.
Experience with Design Reviews, Process Control Documentation, Work Instructions, and Bills of Materials.
Experience with Mechanical/Electrical Drawings.
Experience with Siemens NX/CPLM or similar tools and Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS‑Project).
Nice to Have
Certified IPC specialist.
Experience with PWB/CCAs and LRUs.
Experience with CPLM and/or MES.
Understanding of J‑STD, soldering techniques, and SMT manufacturing.
Interpret PWB/CCA design drawings and X‑Rays for defect analysis.
Planning disposition of nonconforming PWB/CCAs/LURs.
ESD protocols and controls.
Identification and mitigation of producibility requirements.
Oversight of sub‑tier suppliers.
Knowledge of AS6500 and GD&T application.
Manufacturing Plans/CDRLs, MRA, and MRL development.
Risk mitigation and alternative work‑around plans.
Tool and fixture design coordination with customers.
Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400 – $134,200. Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700 – $167,500.
