This role is designed for a hands‑on accounting leader with experience supporting SEC reporting, public‑company controls, and complex revenue models. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, managing the monthly close, and supporting the preparation of periodic filings. The role offers high visibility and close collaboration with executive leadership in a growth‑oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and well‑documented results.
Prepare and review monthly financial statements and internal management reporting.
Support quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10‑Q and 10‑K, and related schedules.
Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
Perform variance, trend, and financial analysis and communicate insights to leadership.
Oversee day‑to‑day accounting activities, including coordination of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Serve as a primary contact for external auditors and support audit and review processes.
Partner with finance leadership to strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and public‑company reporting processes.
Identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities within accounting operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
7–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Hands‑on experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606.
Experience supporting public‑company accounting and external reporting requirements.
Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax compliance.
Required Skills
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative approach with comfort interacting with senior leadership and external partners.
Preferred Skills
Experience in healthcare, telehealth, SaaS, or subscription‑based businesses.
Direct involvement with SEC reporting, including 10‑Q and 10‑K preparation.
Experience with accounting and ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, Netsuite, etc.
CPA, MBA, or similar professional certification.
Remote (U.S.). This role is fully remote, with a strong preference for candidates based in the Atlanta, GA area.
