is seeking a SharePoint Admin (IT Specialist) for the U.S. Coast Guard’s Office of Acquisition Support and Systems Engineering Policy (CG‑SID‑9). This role ensures that CG‑SID‑9’s SharePoint portal and associated IT tools remain accurate, efficient, user‑friendly, and aligned with USCG acquisition governance needs.
Location: Onsite at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters (USCG HQ)
Address: 2703 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE, Washington, DC 20593
Hours: 08:00 ‑ 16:00 Monday through Friday
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS/USCG Public Trust/Suitability
Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Employment Type: Full‑Time
Client: U.S. Coast Guard, Office of Acquisition Support and Systems Engineering Policy (CG‑SID‑9)
Key Responsibilities
Maintain CG‑SID‑9 SharePoint portal sites, including the Program Document Portal, ensuring accurate uploading, linking, and filing of approved acquisition documents
Logical site design, ease of navigation, and user‑focused layout
Functional links and updated content
Perform routine data entry, portal updates, and site reorganizations as needed
Ensure monthly updates or more frequently as directed by the COR
Obtain COR approval before implementing significant structural or design changes
Meet performance metrics including accuracy, timeliness, usability, and user satisfaction
SharePoint Tools, Automation, and Improvements
Identify and document recommended improvements to SharePoint and USCG workstation tools (e.g., automation scripts, dashboards, trackers)
Research IT solutions and present well‑justified recommendations to the COR
Upon approval, build new automation or IT tools that enhance organizational efficiency
Develop detailed process guides for any created tools, ensuring clarity and compliance with CG‑SID‑9 standards
Update process guides at least annually or as procedures evolve
Deliver improvements that demonstrate measurable gains in operational efficiency
User Support & Collaboration
Provide technical assistance to government and contractor personnel using SharePoint sites or tools
Troubleshoot site issues, broken links, permission errors, and workflow disruptions
Support document version control and information governance best practices
Coordinate closely with the Project Manager, Deputy PM, Office Chief, and COR to ensure alignment with CG‑SID‑9 processes and priorities
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of relevant experience is required
Hands‑on experience administering SharePoint sites (document libraries, permissions, lists, pages, workflows) is required
Ability to create dashboards, automated workflows, or other IT‑enabled process improvements is required
Strong understanding of metadata, document management, versioning, and governance principles is required
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Power Automate, Excel, Teams) is required
Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills are required
Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS/USCG Public Trust/Suitability is required
Ability to work full‑time onsite at USCG Headquarters is required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with USCG systems such as CG Portal, TMS, or DCARS
Experience developing automation tools, SharePoint workflows, or custom dashboards
Experience writing clear IT process documentation and user guides
Familiarity with acquisition lifecycle documentation needs (MSAM/NMAP)
Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator, Power Platform, or similar)
