Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Sr. SDET)
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Sr. SDET) who combines strong technical depth with leadership qualities to join NinjaOne’s Analytics and Reporting Platform Team. Your role will involve mentoring others, driving automation strategy, elevating engineering standards, and collaborating across teams to ensure world‑class product quality.
Key technical focus areas include
modern programming languages, CI/CD systems, and AI‑driven testing technologies such as TestRigor.
Location We offer flexible remote work for candidates located in the USA, specifically in CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, and WA. Hybrid options are available at our Austin, TX and Tampa, FL offices.
What You’ll Be Doing
Develop automation tests to ensure regression coverage across our products, design test scenarios for maximum traceability, and integrate new automation against existing applications.
Provide architectural insight and evangelize a testing‑first approach across the software development lifecycle.
Lead comprehensive software testing, develop and maintain test plans and strategies, and ensure cross‑platform compliance.
Collaborate with QA Engineers, developers, product managers, and leaders to maintain quality standards throughout the SDLC.
Perform additional duties as required.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience designing and executing automated test frameworks, strategies, and plans.
Strong commitment to quality engineering, automation best practices, and continuous improvement.
Exceptional diagnostic, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Advanced programming skills in Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with a focus on maintainable, scalable automation.
Experience with Selenium, RestAssured, or similar frameworks.
Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as CircleCI or TeamCity.
Testing of APIs, distributed systems, data integrity, and system integrations.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP and large‑scale test execution.
Proficiency with Git workflows, branching strategies, and code quality best practices.
Experience with AI‑driven automation, particularly TestRigor.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment and mentor junior engineers.
Experience with containerization (Docker) and DevOps concepts is a plus.
Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6 is a plus.
Benefits and Compensation Compensation ranges from $110,000 to $200,000 per year depending on location, market, and experience.
