Principal Project Manager, Water Resources We are seeking a dynamic Principal Project Manager offering strong technical and project management experience to join our Water Business Group in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

What You Will Do Joining the water resources team at GFT means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. Our team excels in dams and levees, advanced water and wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and conveyance, collection, and transmission.

Plan, design, and construct water resources infrastructure in a dynamic team setting.

Mentor junior staff and lead project teams to deliver high‑quality projects.

Build and maintain relationships with clients, connect GFT solutions to client needs, and guide procurement stages.

Lead integrated teams to satisfy client requirements for scope, schedule, budget and quality, increasing backlog, revenue and profitability.

Serve as project manager or senior technical resource for key clients, managing multi‑disciplinary resources.

Ensure quality client services, clarity on work products and delivery within budget and schedule.

Utilize internal systems for communication, tracking and collaboration.

Support staff development in client service delivery, strategic planning and effective communication.

Maintain performance metrics including annual sales goals, project budgets and schedules.

Coordinate with government regulatory agencies and oversee construction contract management and observation services.

Prepare reports, permit applications, supervise and mentor junior‑level engineers, and demonstrate professional technical writing and verbal skills.

Qualifications

BS in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering or related field.

15+ years of experience in water resources infrastructure.

Professional Engineer license strongly preferred.

Demonstrated project management experience including budget and schedule monitoring and control.

Experience in client relations and business development.

Leadership and team player with strong planning and organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in client presentations and report preparation.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in consulting and engineering services with progressive responsibilities in business development and project delivery for water resources infrastructure projects.

Proven ability to manage projects on time and on budget while exceeding client expectations.

Understanding of environmental and regulatory drivers for clients and projects.

Strong technical skills to articulate ideas and concepts visually and contextually.
