Overview
The Vice President of Compliance & Ethics is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines, regulations, and laws, as well as Front Porch's internal policies through the development and implementation of a Compliance and Ethics Program and procedures to ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards. This position also provides guidance and training to all employees and the Board of Directors on compliance matters, conducts audits and investigations, and collaborates with senior leadership to mitigate risks and maintain a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.
Essential Functions
Develop and maintain a comprehensive Compliance and Ethics Program to ensure organizational compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and adherence to internal policies and ethical standards.
Identify compliance vulnerabilities and develop corrective action plans.
Investigate allegations of illegal, improper, or unethical conduct by employees or company representatives; address violations and ensure the proper reporting of violations as required by law.
Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance and Ethics Program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct. This extends to collaborating with relevant stakeholders on development and maintenance of operational and clinical policies required to meet regulatory compliance managed by all organization departments.
Oversee compliance and ethics education and training initiatives by creating and implementing training programs related to regulatory and compliance risk areas and ethical behavior concerns to educate team members in policies, procedures and regulatory requirements relevant to their work.
Develop, oversee, and implement enterprise‑wide compliance management systems including risk assessment tools, mitigation response plans, monitoring protocols, reporting templates, and communications tools.
Lead and manage the corporate Compliance Committee to monitor organizational compliance.
Manage the organization's compliance and ethics hotline, including investigation, follow up, and corrective action if necessary.
Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate compliance considerations into strategic decision‑making and operational planning and prepare and present compliance reports to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
Oversee the monitoring and auditing activities for each service line and has the authority to initiate an audit and review audit results. Coordinate with the third‑party internal auditors to develop an audit plan.
Consult with Front Porch's legal department as needed to resolve legal compliance issues.
Stays current on operational, organizational, regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure the organization’s compliance efforts are effective and up to date; periodically assesses the overall function of the Compliance and Ethics Program to reduce risk and improve compliance with applicable requirements.
Serve as the HIPAA Privacy Officer and oversee policies and practices related to protected health information.
Conduct on‑site visits to the communities to assess and validate compliance with organizational standards.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Education or Equivalent Qualifications
Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Health Administration, or related field; alternatively 2 years of college plus 2 years of related work experience, or 4 years of related work experience.
Preferred: Master’s Degree.
Experience or Equivalent Qualifications
Essential: 12 years of relevant experience in compliance, legal or other highly regulated related functions in a regulatory organization, a consulting firm, or a combination thereof.
Preferred: 5 years of experience in compliance, in the healthcare or senior living industry.
