Network Technician

Visually inspect devices to assess equipment status Reboot routers, servers, storage devices, or other equipment Provide loop‑back cables for remote circuit testing Re‑seat or replace components or cables Remove AC or DC power from equipment Clean equipment or connectors Connect client‑provided test sets or routers to equipment Swap removable storage media Install or replace modular equipment components Dispatch equipment for repair Clean fibers Take light level measurements Install loop backs Provide planned maintenance or circuit migration support Install Small Form‑Factor Pluggables (SFPs) or Gigabit Interface Converters (GBICs) Troubleshoot hardware problems on any device Rack and de‑rack any installed device Label inventory equipment, capture digital pictures, and record serial numbers Perform tape backup: cassette exchange and storage in a strongbox Power cycle routers, servers, switches, and soft‑boot servers Follow Data Eradication process Provisioning
Install cables or optics for new circuits Reconnect, disconnect, or replace existing circuits Test cables and optics Deployment
Physical cabling Cable management Northbound cabling (fiber, copper, power) Rack, stack, and jack installation support (PDU, network switches, etc.) Perform e‑waste and other clean‑up activities Job Requirements
Proven experience in a network administrator role Hands‑on experience in networking, routing, and switching Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure Experience with firewalls, Internet VPNs, remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution (desired) Ability to set up and configure server hardware Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills CCNA, Network+, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, or equivalent certification BSc degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent) Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a three‑year college or technical school with an emphasis in electronics required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
