Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 24-bed adult medicine unit, requiring a MD or compact RN license and strong dysrhythmia management skills.
Responsibilities
Position is based in a 24-bed adult telemetry medicine unit within a hospital setting
Handles a wide variety of diagnoses including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematology, neurology, renal, and rheumatology cases
Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4 on weekdays and 1:4-5 on nights and weekends
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Required to work every 3rd weekend
On-call required for 2 twelve-hour shifts every 6 weeks
Float required within skill set
Care for diverse adult patient populations in need of general medicine and telemetry services
Orientation sessions offered on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
Holiday coverage required as needed
Eligible local candidates accepted at the same rate, with exceptions for specific locations
First-time travelers may be considered if experience requirements are met
Requirements
Active MD or compact RN license
Current BLS certification
Minimum of 2 years recent nursing experience
Strong dysrhythmia management skills required
Prior experience in comparable facilities with 500+ bed count required
Experience with Epic EMR preferred
Previous travel assignments preferred
