The County of San Diego, California, is seeking an experienced and visionary executive to serve as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (DCAO) overseeing the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA). The DCAO will lead the HHSA’s strategic and operational direction, guiding more than 8,000 employees and a $3.5 billion budget through a period of change and transformation. The DCAO advances innovation, collaboration, and equity to strengthen service delivery and improve the quality of life for more than 3.3 million residents. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the DCAO works closely with the Board of Supervisors, other County leaders, and community partners, shaping the future of San Diego County’s social safety net, modernizing systems, and cultivating a culture of trust, accountability, and whole-community care.
