Overview
Senior Editor to support the Defense Intelligence Agency’s CIO JWICS Governance Branch under the JWICS Modernization initiative. The Editor will play a critical role in Creative Services, providing expert editorial, marketing, and multimedia support to communicate Division leadership’s vision and project status to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide marketing consultations and planning to support CIO’s strategic communication objectives.
- Coordinate with CIO JWICS Governance Branch leadership to develop, refine, execute, and amend multi-media advertising plans, including print and digital campaigns, ensuring alignment with Division goals and timelines.
- Develop marketing campaigns from conception through final production, including information architecture, creative design, copywriting, graphical design, resizing, and mechanicals.
- Proofread and review all copies and materials, ensuring compliance with CIO’s internal review process and agency publication standards.
- Offer creative consulting and best practices for brand advocacy and creative continuity.
- Participate in weekly agency account meetings, reviews, requirements sessions, and briefings.
- Develop video content targeting future-focused initiatives to engage stakeholders and communicate the impact of day-to-day activities, including pre-production, production, and post-production services.
- Conduct target audience development for all core stakeholders.
- Employ all available media tools (e.g., print, video) as needed based on strategic direction.
- Perform additional duties such as Data Transfer Officer (DTO) and Removable Media Custodian (RMC) as required for effective creative services delivery.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI (CI Poly Preferred)
- Master’s degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience in editorial, marketing, or communications roles.
- Demonstrated experience supporting government or defense clients is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in multimedia content development, editing, and campaign management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with leadership and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Level of Responsibility
Work includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment concerning matters of administrative/operational needs.
Work Environment
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate within a team environment.
- Ability to type, sitting or standing, to complete work functions for hours at a time; ability to move between sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent basis.
- This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week on site, Monday through Friday, within the contract hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m
