Job Description

The EHR Application Analyst IV performs a variety of duties related to the information technology applications. Responsibilities include assisting with design, development, system configuration, implementation, continuous improvement and support of information systems for the organization. The analyst works with multiple teams and key customers to ensure appropriate development and implementation of application functionality. The role may involve many application domains such as Ambulatory, Home Health/Hospice, ASAP, Beacon, Beaker, Phoenix, Research, Radiant, Cupid, Willow, Clin Doc, Op‑Time, Orders, Stork, Bugsy, Anesthesia, Security, SER, HIM, PB, HB, HBB, Cadence, Prelude, Nursing, Physician, Revenue Cycle, Administrative, Ancillary, etc.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Defines, documents, builds and maintains EHR application content.
  • Creates functional specification documents and validates content with business owners.
  • Independently leads projects adhering to defined project management strategies, manages assigned projects and meets deadlines consistently.
  • Serves as an application expert and resource for team members and other application teams in identifying issues and resolution paths; manages cross‑team collaboration as needed.
  • Achieves and maintains required certifications of respective EHR applications and stays current with new functionality and enhancements.
  • Acts as a liaison between IT, customers and/or vendors; coordinates and facilitates meetings, including documentation with all operational areas.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation including analysis, design, programming, procedures and user guides.
  • Performs other duties as needed to meet departmental or customer needs; provides on‑call and after‑hours support as required.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of leadership, up to and including C‑Level interactions.
  • Mentors junior colleagues in application knowledge and project management skills.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5–8 years of related work experience with direct experience in Electronic Health Record implementation and support; or 5+ years of operational experience utilizing EHR applications.
  • Vendor certification in good standing (or proficiency if accepted) for the modules the employee supports; non‑certified employees have 6 months from hire to obtain certification.
  • Ability to assess problems and projects independently with little supervision.
  • Advanced application knowledge and ability to apply this knowledge to unique scenarios.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and other web‑based applications; capable of producing complex documents, performing analysis and maintaining databases.

Social/Environmental Requirements

  • Close attention to tasks with occasional breaks that do not compromise accuracy.
  • Adaptable to daily variation; uses independent judgment and manages priorities.
  • No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Health Care Worker Status: No patient contact; status may vary by department.

Sensory Requirements

Close work (paperwork, visual examination), color vision/perception, visual monotony, visual clarity at less than 3 feet, conversation, telephone.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work; may exert up to 10 pounds occasionally. Mostly sitting with occasional walking and standing. Constant keyboard use.

Pay Range

$119,995.00 USD – $147,680.00 USD (annual base salary).
