Overview
Focus Health Network ("Focus") is a leading healthcare organization operating a portfolio of skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities across Pennsylvania. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Finance to oversee all financial operations across our facilities and corporate entities. This executive will be a key member of the leadership team, driving financial performance, accountability, and strategic growth within a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
Position Summary
The Vice President of Finance will oversee the organization’s financial management and strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting. This individual will play a critical role in optimizing cash flow, strengthening internal controls, and supporting operational leadership with timely, data-driven insights. The VP of Finance will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and work closely with facility Administrators, Regional Directors, and corporate departments.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Partner with the CFO and executive team to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with Focus Health Network’s goals.
- Provide forward-looking financial insights to support strategic decision-making and operational planning.
- Oversee short- and long-term financial forecasting, including revenue projections, expense controls, and capital expenditure planning.
- Lead and mentor the accounting and finance teams to ensure accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Oversee monthly and annual financial closings, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements for all facilities.
- Manage consolidated financial reporting for corporate and facility-level entities, including OpCo/HoldCo structures.
- Develop and maintain standardized reporting dashboards for KPIs such as census, labor costs, accounts payable, AR aging, and P&L performance.
- Collaborate with accounting partners, auditors, and external consultants to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Direct the annual budgeting process for all facilities and corporate departments.
- Monitor budget‑to‑actual performance, identify variances, and work with operations to drive corrective actions.
- Support Regional and Facility leadership in understanding key financial metrics, including PPD, HPPD, and operating margins.
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Treasury Oversight
- Supervise all aspects of cash flow management, including payables, receivables, and banking relationships.
- Oversee the AP department to ensure timely invoice processing, vendor management, and efficient use of automation tools (Stampli, Capture, Visual, QuickBooks, etc.).
- Coordinate with facility billing and RCM teams to ensure accurate and timely revenue capture.
- Manage treasury operations, including daily cash position tracking, intercompany transfers, and funding coordination.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policies across all entities.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and processes that support audit readiness.
- Partner with compliance and operations to align financial practices with state and federal healthcare regulations.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work cross‑functionally with Operations, HR, and Procurement to align financial practices with organizational objectives.
- Provide training and financial literacy development for facility leadership to enhance accountability and transparency.
- Support the CFO in investor, lender, and board communications through data‑driven presentations and financial narratives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in healthcare, long‑term care, or multi‑facility operations.
- Proven experience managing financials across multiple entities and corporate structures.
- Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement models, Medicaid/Medicare, and managed care environments.
- Proficiency with financial systems such as QuickBooks Online, Stampli, Capture, and Excel‑based modeling.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with a hands‑on, results‑driven mindset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non‑financial audiences.
