-Prepares patient for examination focusing on patient comfort and satisfaction, explains the procedure in easy-to-understand terms performs ultrasound procedures, relieve patients of pre-testing anxiety and directly observes the and monitors the patient during the entire process.
-Sets-up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion.
-Carefully reviews prior reports and images, and patient chart.
-Ensures that proper images have been obtained, studies are complete and through, appropriate techniques have been employed, reader is notified.
-Maintains records and logs exams performed.
-Maintains control of inventory and purchases of supplies for the assigned area.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.
-Experienced Sonographer to perform high quality Adult Echo studies as per ASE & IAC Guidelines in a premiere cardiac center. -Dedicated inpatient echo work experience is a must. Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 inpatient cases in echocardiography. -Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills. -Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies. -Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities and quickly respond to critical findings. -TEE and Stress Echo experience. -Familiarity with 3D echo imaging. -TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, closure device protocols. -Maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards. -Experience using Philips ie33 and Epiq systems. -Familiarity with Epic hospital information system.
Preferred Education: -Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred. Required Certifications & Licensure: -Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). -Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association (AHA) -Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 inpatient cases in echocardiography.
