$55-65 Hourly Inpatient Sonographer
Job Summary: The Sonographer prepares patients for examination with a focus on comfort and satisfaction, explaining procedures in understandable terms, performing ultrasound procedures, relieving pre-test anxiety, and monitoring patients throughout the process. Sets up equipment in a timely manner to administer procedures, carefully reviews prior reports, images, and patient charts, and ensures that proper images are obtained using appropriate techniques. Maintains accurate records and logs of performed exams, manages inventory and supplies for assigned areas, and performs other related duties as assigned. Inpatient Sonographer
Essential Duties: Prepares and positions patients for ultrasound exams, ensuring comfort and clear communication. Performs high-quality ultrasound imaging procedures per established protocols. Reviews patient charts, prior studies, and relevant clinical data. Confirms completeness of imaging studies and notifies readers promptly. Maintains exam logs and documentation in accordance with facility standards. Manages supplies and ensures readiness of ultrasound equipment. Performs additional duties as assigned by leadership. Required Qualifications: Experienced Sonographer skilled in performing high-quality Adult Echo studies per ASE & IAC guidelines. Proficiency in valvular assessment, spectral Doppler, and Pedoff skills. Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies. High School Diploma or GED required. Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification required. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities, and respond promptly to critical findings. Preferred Skills & Experience: TEE and Stress Echo experience. Familiarity with 3D echo imaging. Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred. Experience with TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols. Familiarity with ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards.
