Advance Practice Provider Hospitalist PRN
About the Role
The PRN position was created to provide additional coverage across the system to help with staffing shortages, PTO coverage, admin time, sick leave, and demands of high census.
Locations & Schedule
Locations: HPMC, LMC, DMC, WMC, and AHWFBMC
Schedule: PRN
APP will follow early/late protocol at each specific site
Supervising Physician: must be privileged and payor enrolled at all AHWFB sites.
Reporting: The PRN APP will report to the APP Manager.
Schedule will be made every 3 months via collaboration between APP Manager and Scheduler (QGenda) to cover open shifts. Efforts to minimize different services or locations each week. At least two days in a row on a particular rounding service and less than two different locations in a week. PRN APP schedule subject to change for callouts, emergencies, or high census. Any change communicated no later than 6 pm the day prior. Swing shifts: subject to assignment. If scheduled to swing, not scheduled day shift the following day. Wilkes coverage receives $100/shift incentive.
Compensation
Pay Range: $50.05 - $75.10 per shift
No additional travel compensation for PRN APP.
Education & Experience
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's degree preferred.
Licensure, Certification, and Registration
Current applicable state Medical Board Medical License.
Certified by NCCPA.
Essential Functions
Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
Collaborate with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects to patient.
Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
