Assistant Hotel Manager – Overnight Shift – CitizenM Department: Hotels Employment Type: Permanent – Full Time Location: Washington, D.C., USA Reporting To: Hotel Manager Compensation: $79,188/year As an overnight assistant hotel manager, you are responsible for the overnight operation of the hotel. Naturally, you are an excellent ambassador—enthusiastic, optimistic, and respectful to everyone. You work with your team to guide, coach, and inspire them to deliver exceptional service, maximize revenue opportunities, control costs, and ensure the safety of guests and employees. Leadership Lead, encourage, and inspire ambassadors to support the operational procedures of CitizenM. Ensure a sound understanding of CitizenM brand values. Coach and train ambassadors; develop and nurture talent, provide feedback and monthly evaluations. Demonstrate excellent problem analysis skills and decision‑making. Create shift schedules, ensure adequate cover at all times, and assign daily tasks. Be responsible for your own personal planning and work organization. Maintain a working understanding of legislation governing hotel operations, including employment law, health and safety, food safety, alcohol licensing, first aid and fire safety. Guest Satisfaction Welcome guests and assist with check‑in and check‑out at kiosks. Maintain the hotel environment to ensure a clean and comfortable experience. Know local dining, shopping, nightlife, and attractions to recommend to guests. Handle reservations and process administrative matters. Work with the hotel management system. Manage daily societyM meeting rooms and functions where applicable. Food & Beverage Collaborate with the team to serve guests at canteenM. Operate the point‑of‑sale system. Demonstrate exceptional product knowledge of canteenM and guarantee quality. Manage daily F&B revenue targets and drive commitment to monthly results. Maximize Revenue Opportunities Seek opportunities to enhance the guest experience, creating an environment where guests want to stay, work, and play. Coordinate with housekeeping and engineering to manage room inventory, ensuring rooms are maintained and presented in top condition. Report daily hotel revenue and handle cash responsibility. Cost Control Manage the purchasing of all food and beverage items and hotel operating equipment. Maintain stock in line with fluctuating business levels, minimizing waste. Ensure respect for the property in which you work. Qualifications Fluent in English. Excellent multi‑tasking ability. 2+ years of managerial or coaching experience; no specific hotel experience required. Team player who loves meeting and greeting diverse people. A passion for delivering outstanding service. Shift Pattern Full‑time. Overnight shift (possible day shifts occasionally): 11:00 pm – 7:30 am. Availability to work weekends required.
