The position is a remote/telework role, although full-day attendance at the client location in Camp Springs, MD may be required a few times a month; local candidates are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares big data and implements analytics models using SQL and Python within a Databricks data environment. Work with various types of data to develop, maintain and enhance reports, analysis and models
  • Responsible for data mining, data preparation, data profiling and reporting and may lead independently or as part of a team to deliver data or analytic products
  • Conduct both qualitative and quantitative service operations research using client data, formulate hypotheses, test them and present the results in a clear and concise manner
  • Applies knowledge to determine the accuracy and reasonableness of the data, recommendations, and solutions proposed
  • Documents and summarizes the results and develops and recommended solutions to the customer’s problems. Prepare and conduct analyses and studies, needs/gaps assessments
  • Use advanced statistical techniques to identify and measure trends, anomalies, forecast future values and determine other relevant insight
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding environment and must exhibit hyper attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and interpret large amounts of data and information and quickly recognize what is superfluous and what is relevant using analytical and statistical techniques

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to mathematics, economics, data science, statistics, or computer science
  • Preferred 1-3 years of experience in data analysis using SQL, Python
  • Strong SQL skills, and ability to identify issues with data
  • Experience with Databricks or similar cloud-based distributed database technologies
  • Experience with Tableau, or PowerBI
  • Demonstrated experience with cleaning, management, optimizing performance and processing large volumes of data
  • Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
  • Ability to gather and interpret large amounts of data and information and quickly recognize what is superfluous and what is relevant using analytical and statistical techniques
  • Proficient written, verbal, and client communication and presentation skills
  • Must be a United States Citizen and must be able to clear a Public Trust
  • Nice to have prior experience with USCIS or immigration
