The position is a remote/telework role, although full-day attendance at the client location in Camp Springs, MD may be required a few times a month; local candidates are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepares big data and implements analytics models using SQL and Python within a Databricks data environment. Work with various types of data to develop, maintain and enhance reports, analysis and models
- Responsible for data mining, data preparation, data profiling and reporting and may lead independently or as part of a team to deliver data or analytic products
- Conduct both qualitative and quantitative service operations research using client data, formulate hypotheses, test them and present the results in a clear and concise manner
- Applies knowledge to determine the accuracy and reasonableness of the data, recommendations, and solutions proposed
- Documents and summarizes the results and develops and recommended solutions to the customer’s problems. Prepare and conduct analyses and studies, needs/gaps assessments
- Use advanced statistical techniques to identify and measure trends, anomalies, forecast future values and determine other relevant insight
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding environment and must exhibit hyper attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to gather and interpret large amounts of data and information and quickly recognize what is superfluous and what is relevant using analytical and statistical techniques
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to mathematics, economics, data science, statistics, or computer science
- Preferred 1-3 years of experience in data analysis using SQL, Python
- Strong SQL skills, and ability to identify issues with data
- Experience with Databricks or similar cloud-based distributed database technologies
- Experience with Tableau, or PowerBI
- Demonstrated experience with cleaning, management, optimizing performance and processing large volumes of data
- Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
- Ability to gather and interpret large amounts of data and information and quickly recognize what is superfluous and what is relevant using analytical and statistical techniques
- Proficient written, verbal, and client communication and presentation skills
- Must be a United States Citizen and must be able to clear a Public Trust
- Nice to have prior experience with USCIS or immigration
