Amazon is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Applied Scientist with a strong machine learning background to help build industry-leading technology in generative AI and foundational models. As part of our AI team in Amazon AWS, you will work alongside internationally recognized experts to develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques that advance the state of the art in generative AI. Your work will directly impact millions of our customers in the form of products and services that use speech, vision, and language technology. You will gain hands‑on experience with Amazon’s heterogeneous speech, text, image, and structured data sources, and large‑scale computing resources to accelerate advances in machine learning and foundation models. Basic Qualifications PhD or Master’s degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML, or related field experience. Experience in patents or publications at top‑tier peer‑reviewed conferences or journals. Programming experience in Java, C++, Python, or related language. Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high‑performance computing. Preferred Qualifications Experience using Unix/Linux. Experience in professional software development. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
