Duties include performing instrument exchange procedures for operative dentistry, including general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthetics, orthodontics, periodontics, and oral surgery. Prepare dental restorative and prosthetic materials. Assist in oral surgery as required. Ensure compliance with infection control and sterilization regulations. Ability to take digital X-rays is required. Competence with electronic dental health records is necessary. Prepare and perform daily maintenance of major equipment. Maintain equipment and supply inventories. Schedule appointments. Prepare a variety of requests for individual diagnostic testing. Illustrate proper preventive dental hygiene to individuals. Ensure completeness and accuracy of dental medical records. Prepare reports and correspondence. May participate in a dental health information program. May pour molds when necessary.
