Dental Assistant Location: Portland, OR Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,276 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/19/2026 About the Position Job Title: Dental Assistant Profession: Dentistry Specialty: Dental Assistant Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8 Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred License: Pending license accepted Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: First-timers accepted Weekend requirement: None Floating within Hospital: Yes Charting experience preferred Description: The Dental Assistant functions under the direct supervision of the faculty provider. Responsibilities include providing assistance for the faculty provider, dental students, and residents in all areas of the dental department. Assistance is provided in both clinic and operating room settings. Job Responsibilities: Provide clinical assistance for dental procedures and surgeries under the supervision of licensed dentists. Assist in performing dental assisting while patients are under general anesthesia in an operating room. Monitor vital signs of sedated patients in the dental office. Provide chairside assistance and support to dentists, surgeons, residents, interns, and students. Perform tissue retraction, suctioning, disinfection of treatment rooms, and surgical suites. Prepare and break down surgical trays, sterilize instruments, and expose radiographs. Communicate post-operative instructions to patients. Organize workday according to the patient schedule, seating and dismissing patients as required. Record vital signs and perform radiology services for department needs. Provide post-operative instructions and take-home supplies to patients. Wipe down and process surgical instruments for delivery to sterilization. Take impressions and pour models as necessary. Manage and maintain the inventory of equipment and supplies. Ensure the clinical area is clean, organized, and restocked as needed. Maintain the inventory of drugs and controlled substances.
