$1,000 Position Overview: We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Engineer to support a highly reliable, high-volume Web Services team operating primarily on AWS. This role focuses on running and improving cloud-based services that handle billions of requests per year, supporting ongoing cloud migrations, and ensuring uptime, performance, and cost efficiency. The engineer will work closely with Java/React development teams that understand cloud concepts but rely on this role for deep cloud engineering expertise. Duties & Responsibilities: Operate, maintain, and improve highly available AWS-based web services with strict uptime expectations Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and support day-to-day operational needs (no fixed daily routine) Own cloud operational excellence, including monitoring, alerting, and reporting (CloudWatch) Support migration of remaining on-prem services to AWS Drive cost efficiency and FinOps practices, including resource tagging and usage optimization Contribute to 2026 planning, capacity, and utilization forecasting Partner with developers and a portfolio architect to implement and evolve cloud architectures for new initiatives Create and maintain operational and knowledge base documentation in ServiceNow Required Experience & Skills: Strong AWS experience in production environments Experience with Docker and/or other containerization tools Experience with AWS tools/services such as Fargate, CloudFront, CloudWatch (monitoring and reporting), SNS, SQS, etc. Experience supporting hybrid environments (AWS + on-prem VMs, Oracle on-prem) Nice to Have Experience: DevSecOps experience, especially related to cloud migration and promotion CloudFoundry exposure Java-based backend services (engineering support level, not pure app dev) Familiarity with React front-end environments Exposure to mobile testing workflows
