A growing eCommerce organization is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager
to lead a multidisciplinary development team and own the technical and architectural direction of its eCommerce platforms. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with people management to ensure scalable, reliable systems aligned with business goals.
Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional team of developers, integration engineers, and eCommerce specialists Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable system architectures Own architectural decisions, coding standards, and system maintenance across platforms Oversee integrations between eCommerce platforms (Shopify), ERP systems, and third-party tools Drive development best practices including code reviews, release management, and sprint planning Troubleshoot complex system and integration issues Foster continuous improvement in system performance, team productivity, and delivery processes
Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience Proven experience managing technical teams, preferably in an eCommerce environment Strong experience with APIs, RESTful services, webhooks, and middleware platforms Hands-on background in systems architecture and platform integrations (Shopify, ERP, data platforms) Deep familiarity with Shopify development (themes, APIs, app integrations) Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and SDLC implementation Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
