Director of Quality Improvement
Start Date: ASAP — Pay Rate: $120,000.00–$170,000.00 annually.
About the Role Join Samaritan Medical Center, an accredited not‑for‑profit healthcare organization in historic Watertown, New York, as the Director of Quality Improvement.
Responsibilities
Lead the hospital’s overarching quality strategy, driving continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing patient safety, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Report to the Chief Medical Officer, overseeing a team of six direct reports.
Improve hospital quality scores through implementation of strategic initiatives and mentor new leaders within the department.
Act as a strategic, visionary leader with deep quality improvement expertise, mentoring and developing staff, communicating with large groups, collaborating across teams, and building trust at all levels.
Work full‑time onsite; remote work is not an option.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Active New York RN license required.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) required. Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) required or must be obtained within two years of hire.
Progressive experience in quality improvement required, including a minimum of three years in a supervisory role and at least five years of acute‑care hospital experience.
Compensation
Base salary range $120,000–$170,000 annually. Additional benefits may include health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. Total compensation determined based on scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.
