Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Boiler Operator (2nd Class Fireman) to join our team in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our boiler plant. This vital role supports continuous facility operations by managing boiler systems, performing routine inspections, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance.
Responsibilities
Operate, start, and shut down boilers, auxiliaries, compressors, pumps, chillers, and HVAC systems.
Monitor gauges, meters, alarm panels, and record operational data such as pressure, temperature, and water levels.
Perform preventive maintenance and minor mechanical repairs, including handling valves, belts, and leaks.
Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and report abnormalities promptly.
Conduct water chemistry testing (alkalinity, sulfate) and maintain proper treatment levels to prevent scale and corrosion.
Adhere to safety protocols, report hazards, and respond effectively to emergencies.
Maintain accurate logbooks, records, and compliance documentation to ensure operational integrity.
Requirements
Strong understanding of boiler theory, steam systems, and fuel/water/draft systems.
Working knowledge of basic electrical, pneumatic, and control systems.
Must hold a valid state‑issued 2nd Class Fireman’s License.
