About The Role We are seeking a

Financial Systems & Data Operations Engineer

to join our Finance team and drive the evolution of our financial technology ecosystem. This hybrid role sits at the intersection of finance and technology. You will report to the Deputy CFO while collaborating closely with IT and Data Governance teams. You will administer and optimize our core financial systems (ERP, billing, expense, and procurement platforms) and lead data integration and analytics initiatives that support automation, robust reporting, compliance, and scalability. In this role, you will enable data‑driven, efficient, and compliant financial operations by ensuring our finance systems and data processes run seamlessly and intelligently.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Systems Administration: Manage and maintain financial systems (including our ERP, Sage Intacct, as well as billing, expense management, and procurement tools) to ensure they meet business needs and can scale with growth.

Data Integration & ETL: Design and oversee data integration processes between financial systems and other platforms (e.g., CRM, data warehouse). Build and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines or use integration tools/APIs to ensure seamless data flow, eliminating manual data entry and reducing errors.

Process Automation: Identify opportunities to automate recurring finance processes (such as data reconciliation, report generation, and transaction processing). Develop scripts or use automation tools to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance data accuracy.

Reporting & Analytics: Develop and manage financial reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights. Leverage SQL, Power BI, and other BI/reporting tools to empower the Finance team and leadership with real‑time data on key metrics (financial performance, budget vs. actuals, operational KPIs).

Data Quality & Compliance: Ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of financial data across all systems. Implement data validation checks, monitoring, and controls in line with company policies and regulatory standards (e.g., SOX). Work with the Data Governance team to enforce data standards and documentation for master data management.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between Finance and IT/Engineering teams. Translate financial business requirements into technical specifications for system enhancements or integrations. Coordinate with vendors or IT on system upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations, ensuring minimal disruption to financial operations.

Support & Training: Provide support to finance and accounting end‑users, troubleshoot system issues or data discrepancies in a timely manner. Develop user guides and conduct training sessions to help teams fully utilize financial systems and reporting tools.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in financial systems administration, data operations/engineering, or a similar hybrid finance‑technology role.

ERP Systems Expertise: Hands‑on experience administering or supporting ERP and financial software (preferably Sage Intacct, or similar systems like NetSuite, SAP, Oracle). Familiarity with billing, expense, or procurement systems is a strong plus.

SQL & Data Skills: Proficiency in SQL for data querying, extraction, and manipulation. Comfortable working with databases and managing data integration processes between systems (via ETL tools, APIs, or scripts).

Reporting Tools: Experience developing reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools, especially Microsoft Power BI, as well as advanced Excel skills. Ability to translate raw data into meaningful insights for stakeholders.

Finance & Compliance Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting/finance processes (accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, financial close, and budgeting). Knowledge of internal controls, compliance requirements (e.g., SOX), and data governance best practices in a financial context.

Analytical Problem Solver: Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail when dealing with financial data and systems. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve system issues or data discrepancies efficiently.

Preferred Skills

Sage Intacct Certification/Experience: Direct experience with Sage Intacct or certification in Intacct administration. Familiarity with other finance systems like CRM or planning tools is a bonus.

Programming & Scripting: Ability to write scripts or use programming languages (e.g., Python, VBA, or RPA tools) to automate data tasks and integrations.

Integration Platforms: Experience with data integration platforms or middleware (such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Zapier) to connect cloud applications.

BI & Data Warehousing: Exposure to data warehousing concepts and connecting financial data to analytics platforms. Knowledge of additional BI tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.) is a plus.

Data Governance & Security: Understanding of data governance frameworks and experience implementing data quality or security measures in financial systems.
