Offers leadership for assessments and supports the District’s strategic direction regarding assessments; implements a secure testing environment and supports schools in using assessment data to inform instruction; develops and monitors the assessment program within schools; provides leadership for district-wide assessment initiatives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understands all state laws and policies regarding state and local assessments and leads the organization to effectively implement. Knowledge of policies and guidelines for the accurate reporting of system data to federal and state agencies. Ability to coordinate and collaborate with necessary parties to execute all standardized assessments efficiently and effectively. This includes external departments at GADOE/GOSA, other testing providers, as well as school-based assessment administrators. Ability to administer and manage accurate system assessment data. Knowledge of guidelines and policies governing the retention of records. Knowledge of research practices and processes to analyze data. Ability to coordinate support for the district and school-based to consume, analyze, and act on applicable data. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to train school system personnel in standardized test preparation, research analysis, and problem solving. Ability to coordinate efforts to create a shared understanding of the vision for and use of various assessments and the data collected from each, as well as how assessments should be used to impact student achievement and learning. Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree or higher with a valid certificate in Educational Leadership. Three (3) years of K-12 experience in an administrative/leadership position with increased administrative responsibilities in the area of testing and analysis of data. Experience conducting research and/or evaluation of assessment data and administering standardized tests. Key Responsibilities
Assists with training for system/school personnel involved in test administration, including School Test Coordinators, Examiners, Proctors, the system Special Education Coordinators, the system ESOL Coordinator, and any others who have responsibilities related to testing and/or testing materials. Ensures strict test security and report to the Director of Assessment, Accountability, Research, and Evaluation any concerns regarding testing irregularities (e.g., student cheating, unethical professional conduct). Ensures appropriate administration of all standardized assessments. Assist with collecting and analyzing longitudinal student assessment data. Assists with reviewing and sharing data to support school personnel in improving student achievement. Assists with creating and disseminating data analysis reports to various stakeholders that accurately reflect student achievement and identify trends in progress or instructional gaps. Works with the Director of Assessment, Accountability, Research, and Evaluation to ensure accuracy of data reported and used for state and federal calculations. Prepares all required reports and maintains appropriate records related to areas of responsibility. Participates in professional organizations, workshops, and professional development activities and applies what is learned to enhance leadership skills. Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of job duties; performs routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision. Assists in the formulation, establishment, and implementation of system accountability plans and the balanced assessment system. Maintains confidentiality of all testing items, data, and documents within the Department of Assessment, Accountability, Research, and Evaluation. Physical demands – position requires significant sitting, standing, and walking; some bending and kneeling. Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling will not normally exceed thirty (30) pounds, and will usually be ten (10) pounds. Perform any other administrative duties or responsibilities that may be assigned.
