This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health (OMH), Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center (SAMHC), Spartanburg, SC 29303.

Under limited supervision of Center Director, this position will direct and monitor all clinical services at the Spartanburg Clinic. Services will be provided in a culturally sensitive manner.

Responsibilities for the Clinic Director include:

Provide direct supervision of most clinical department supervisors as well as the CCBHC (Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic) project director. Provide leadership/supervision to their supervisees when needed. Direct the Center's Disaster Preparedness and Response program. Participate as MHP with the State Law Enforcement Division when called upon to participate in officer debriefings and other debriefings as requested by partner agencies and the community.

Ensure the Spartanburg Clinic meets all clinical intake requirements regarding Emergency. Urgent and non-urgent.

Plan, organize, implement, direct & supervise all clinical services for the Spartanburg Mental Health Clinic. Recruit, screes, & recommend personnel for the clinical vacancies in all programs. Offer recommendation & revision of SAMHC Policies & Procedures & assure compliance with same: recommend staff members for committee appointments, monitor leave & compliance with timekeeping; monitor clinical staff's productivity, complete EPMS's (performance reviews) in a timely fashion; represent Spartanburg Clinic at Executive and Supervisory meetings. Maintain a halfway a week of clinic time for patient care and continuity.

Oversee Center's CARF accreditation process, Essure compliance with CARF standards in addition to local, state, and federal compliance laws and regulations. Generate monthly output reports and disseminating to management staff and Executive Team. Monthly reporting also keeping track of these deliverables for management to be able to see our progress or lack thereof at a glance, and to also keep track of this data for CARF. Maintain Clinical Outcome Data tracking mechanism for center deliverables and benchmarks. Create and maintain the Strategic Action Plan for SAMHC.

Maintain oversight for the Training Programs for SAMHC. Maintain current training plans for all staff, schedules training opportunities based on identified goals, communicate with central office and to staff regarding statewide training initiatives. Work with staff to assess in-house resources for training and coordinate with supervisors to arrange training opportunities. Collaborate with QA to Arrange training on QA measures based upon audit report.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with community organizations/agencies, provide consultation/education to agencies & general public as required or needed. Coordinate public relations & oversee media releases. Serve on local community development boards (e.g. Homeless Coalition, Disaster preparedness for Spartanburg County, Behavioral Health Task Force).

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Successfully complete the Basic Fundamentals course with a minimum grade of 75.

Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.

Must have experience in both clinical and administrative supervision.
