As a WBUR Leadership Annual Giving Officer, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing strategies to grow unrestricted giving through the acquisition, renewal, and increased giving of WBUR's Murrow Society Donors (those giving $1,500 or more annually). One of three Leadership Annual Giving Officers, you will hold a portfolio of current donors and prospects, building relationships to progress donors from WBUR's Membership annual giving program to the major gifts program. You will report to our Director of Leadership Giving.
Key Responsibilities
Secure new, renewed, or increased funding from individuals through online giving, direct mail and digital campaigns, special events, meetings (on‑site and off‑site) and direct proposals.
Steward donors with appropriate recognition and engagement opportunities throughout the year, including gift acknowledgements, regular communication, station tours and events.
Effectively move leadership annual donors through the pipeline, working with membership, planned giving and major gifts teams as appropriate.
Partner with Associate Director of Data & Donor Strategy to develop, implement and refine donor engagement strategy, including for monthly sustaining members.
Work with Associate Director of Data & Donor Strategy to analyze program results data to refine and increase return on investment.
Draft compelling, donor‑focused, and high‑quality communications, such as email announcements, acknowledgements and solicitations.
Prepare event briefings and prospect biographies on a regular basis.
Maintain information on assigned constituents and prospects in Salesforce.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 3–5+ years’ experience.
Self‑motivated with demonstrated success working in development and understanding of the development process and stewardship.
Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks.
Strong writer with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a collaborative work style.
Able to handle confidential information with care and sensitivity.
Database experience, particularly in Salesforce, is a plus.
